Boxer Dog Training

A very unique and extremely loyal breed , "The Boxer"!

In a good way, of course, the Boxer is not for everyone and a new owner should know this breed is definitely a handful. They are extremely energetic and playful but absolutely amazing! When a friendship is built it lasts forever.

Be aware, they are extremely intelligent dogs, who need a lot of attention and training. They use their intelligence to get what they want. Use this intelligence to your advantage. It can be very helpful when it comes to training. Prevent it from becoming a disadvantage, especially when it comes to training. Their intelligence can cause them to be very stubborn.

What will help him when he grows up is to start his Boxer dog training from as early as 6 weeks old. Do it in an exciting way which will make him more likely to listen. Teach him, play with him and socialize him. Remember when you ask him to do something there will be times that he is stubbornly going to ignore you. Even though he knows he is supposed to do what you are commanding he will in fact decide not to be bothered and won't do it. He will stare you in the face and basically tell you where to go. All owners must remember this. When this happens the main thing is to remain extremely patient.

You have to be firm and a strong leader at times like that. No matter what! You must show him that him acting in such way, won't be tolerated. The stage from 13 to 16 weeks old is where he is prominently going to test for dominance. Mainly by not listening to you he will try to show you that he is more dominant. This demands serious Boxer dog training.

The best way to do this is dog training classes. This will provide you the necessary support and your dog will train alongside other dogs. Socialization is one main aspect of training. Other dogs and people are needed for socializing, to get accustomed.

Why do people who don't know Boxers automatically assume they are naturally aggressive and could do more harm than good? This is due to their aggressive look and good stature. Though, if your boxer isn't trained properly this might just be so. In fact they are really just the opposite of the assumptions. Being probably more playful than any other dog! Their main profession if you like is being guard dogs. To become this is exactly what Boxer dog training consists of.

Do you want a stunning, loyal family friend? If your answer is "yes" you then have to train your Boxer from an early age. Genuinely they are family dogs and would make a lovable proud pet for anyone. Basically they prefer more than anything else to sit close to you even on your lap for a cuddle. Certainly Boxers can be very friendly dogs. Training though, is needed to become that.
