Do you need dog training aids? For dog obedience training there are now many aids available on the market. Often the last thing people try after nothing else seemed to work and their patience's start to fade, are training aids. Though training aids need not be your last resort. Now a days training aids have become cheaper and to invest in aids that can make your life easier and your dogs training and learning process more exiting, why not? It can be simple and effective.

Check out the aids before you buy. The main thing is to know what you're buying for what purpose. You need to understand your dogs temperament to know what can work for him and what won't. What works for one doesn't always work for the other. The fact is that dog training aids are there to help. You can reap the benefit of it. It is not just a money making racket. Most often these aids are developed by dog lovers.

Obedience, agility and many other types of training can be done with various kinds of training aids. Even dog training aids for around the house are available.

The dog clicker, is the newest aid craze available for dog training. The main goal is training without punishment. Punishment is substituted with rewards for good behavior and success. Demand training words are substituted with a clicker, click. (Like sit becomes one click.)

The dog harness, gets fitted around your dogs upper body. The harness is greatly used for teaching dogs to heel and widely used as an obedience aid. With a slight tug on the harness, the dog gets pulled back. It is much safer for training as well as just walking your dog. Bigger dogs such as German Shepherds and Rottweilers are much easier and safely controlled with a harness. Also smaller dogs like the Dutch hund with its long body and rather fragile back is much better supported with a decent harness.

The anti bark dog collar, for some reason just can't gel with my personal feelings. Though I realize it's matter of perception and not facts. Apparently these anti bark collars are harmless and not cruel. I do realize that some scolding and other means of punishment can be much more harmful than an anti bark collar? Each dog owner should make sure of safety, the pro's and con's of a helping aid in relation to what is needed.

On the other hand a constant barking or whining dog just is not acceptable. It can become like noise pollution for some people threatening their peace of mind. This can lead to very unhealthy human relations in a neighborhood. These collars are not so expensive, available on the internet and pet shops.

The anti bark collar for dog agility training and dog shows has been found to be very effective. The hype involved in dog agility, dog events and dog shows is a logical and natural phenomena for dog and owner. Some anti bark collars give a small electric charge when the dog barks, others spray some water up in their face, others do both. You decide which is the fairest way for you and your dog.
Small pieces of treats, a lot of praise and love, works wonders for something good done by your dog. It is the cheapest way of training. Your options are numerous. There is internet information, books, videos, DVD's and CD's on just about anything today available. Choose what you like! Good luck!
